When you’re choosing which email marketing program to use for your business, there is a very important factor that you need to consider. Each email marketing program has a very different success rate for reaching your customers’ inbox.
Mail Channels recently analyzed millions of email delivery attempts by looking up the abuse contact information for each connecting IP address in the Abusix abuse contact database. The following table shows you what percentage of emails sent from each email marketing program actually reaches the desired inbox.
It’s no surprise that MailChimp are at the top of the list with a 99% delivery success rate. MailChimp has a very aggressive approach to policing spam and bad delivery practices. You might be surprised by the results from some of the other large suppliers – for example Constant Contact only have a 64.2% success rate. Also, surprisingly, Google and Microsoft are only hitting a mid-80s delivery rate from their services. This implies that a good proportion of the email from their users is unwanted — in other words, spam.
