Upgrade Issue-Multiple Servers

There is a known issue with upgrading Crossware Mail Signature V2.

This issue occurs when using the 'Install on Server' action to upgrade a remote server.

Symptoms

The follow symptoms are reported during the upgrade of the remote server.

1/21/2010 05:05:16 PM  Agent message: InstallOnServer?:Server log document not found - did you replicate the database before running the agent?

Cause

The issue is due to the Installation log document being created on the source server. This document is then replicated to the destination server where it is passed the NoteID to the installation agent. The installation agent then attempts to open the Notes Document but it is not found.


Workaround

  • Manually replicate the esig.nsf to the destination server
  • Open the esig.nsf database on the destination server and confirm that the design of the database is at the correct version.
  • Using the esig.nsf database on the destination server open the 'Install Log' view and use the 'Install on server' action to upgrade the destination server. When prompted select the same server that the esig.nsf database which you currently have open resides on. The Installation Log document is now created on the same server the Install Agent will execute.
