Lookup fields are created within each signature and then mapped to a notes database. The mapping is completed using views, keys, or fields within the e-mail.
Under normal circumstances you should not need to change these settings. If your user information is not stored in the address book but in a seperate database you can modify the setting in these documents to extract the lookup information from another database/view.
New Lookup
To create a new Lookup click the Action

This will create a 'New Lookup Configuration Document'

Lookup Name
Is a descriptive name that will appear when you insert it into a signature. This must be unique.
Type
Database Lookup: extracts information from a database view using a key field.
Email Field: Extracts data from the email.
Formula: A Notes Formula, the formula must return a text value.NOTE: @DB commands are not available.
Notes Database filepath
A Path to the database that you wish to extract data from.Lookup View Title
View that will be used as a lookup.Lookup Key Type
Text: Static text used as the key
Use Lookup: Use another lookup for the key.Lookup Key Text
The key used to select a document from the above view.Select Other Lookup
Another lookup is used as the key.Field Name
The name of a field within the selected document that will be extracted.
From Field
The '(!From!)' lookup document controls which field within the e-mail is used as the key for the lookups. Changing this fields will cause strange results.In version 2.893 a change was made to the 'From' field for e-mails sent from POP3 clients. (See POP3 Formula Fix)
Editing Lookups
If you edit the lookups within the esig.nsf database you should use the 'Refresh All Documents' action to ensure that any configuration documents based on the document you are updating are updated.Testing Lookups
You can test your lookups using the 'Test Lookup' action. This will send an e-mail to yourself. This e-mail will be processed by the application as it passes through the Domino server and the lookup is evaluated.
